Giving your makeup brushes a deep clean is something many people (myself included) sometimes forget to do at least once a week. It’s important to establish this habit because makeup brushes can trap dirt, oil, and bacteria; which can cause your face to breakout more often than usual. If you’re someone that gets acne easily, the first thing you need to do is wash your brushes before using them to apply makeup on your face. It’s also a great way to have your makeup brushes to last longer.
The way I clean my brushes is by using a clean sponge, baby shampoo and water.
1. Soak a clean sponge with water and add a drop of baby shampoo onto it. Wet the bristles of your brush (without getting the wood handle wet) and swirl your brush on the sponge until you see that the brush is coming out clean.
2.Rinse the brush at a downward angle under water to rinse.
3. Lay brushes flat to dry. I personally like putting my brushes on a towel hanging off the side so that the bristles dry completely. I also leave them drying overnight so they’re ready to go the next morning.
